Couples

Couples therapy focuses on improving communication, resolving conflicts, and enhancing the overall quality of a relationship. As a licensed marriage and family therapist, I have extensive experience working with couples who are struggling to navigate the complexities of their relationships.

The goal of couples therapy is to help partners build stronger, healthier relationships by developing greater understanding and compassion for one another. This is achieved by exploring the issues that are causing tension in the relationship, and working together to develop strategies for resolving conflict.

In couples therapy sessions, partners are encouraged to communicate openly and honestly with one another in a safe and supportive environment. As a therapist, I help couples to identify and express their feelings, thoughts, and needs in a productive and constructive way. I also help them to identify patterns of behavior that may be contributing to their problems and work with them to develop more effective ways of interacting.

Couples therapy can be beneficial for couples who are experiencing a range of challenges in their relationships, including communication problems, conflicts over money, disagreements about parenting styles, infidelity, and sexual problems. In some cases, couples therapy can also be helpful for couples who are considering separation or divorce, as it can help them to work through their issues in a more productive and respectful way.

I've worked with many cross neurotype (or Neurodiverse) couples to help them improve communication and better understand one another. Sometimes differences in communication arise due to different neurotypes, and feeling understood by your partner is integral to resolving conflict. In our work together you will identify the specific strengths and challenges that come with  Neurodivergence. You and your partner will work toward understanding your differences and learning how to use this information to better resolve conflict. sI help guide couples toward a shared understanding of what it means to be a Neurodiverse couple.

If you are considering couples therapy, I encourage you to reach out to me to schedule a free 15-minute consultation. During our consultation, we can discuss your concerns and determine if couples therapy is right for you and your partner.
